Why a second monitor
TWO MONITORS
Two monitors and
even 3 on the same computer, very practical for the productivity. With 3
monitors, one can open Word on one 17 inches, Outlook Express on one 15 inches
for the mail and another monitor with a data base.
What it should be known it is that a second monitor is equivalent increasing its screen of as much. It is not a second set of windows independent of the first, but a major enlarging of your surface of work. You can move, using your mouse, a window of one monitor to the other. You can even place it at horse between the two monitors. Not very logical but possible.
1. Find an old board graphics PCI and fix it in a PCI slot of
your computer.
2. There connect your second monitor (any used monitor).
3. Start again your system. Observe attentively: Windows normally will recognize new graphics board PCI and the second monitor. It will have to be helped in the case of the video card.
4. Install the drivers of the video card PCI which you have just installed.
5. If that crash will check under Hardware manager if there is a conflict. Regulate the conflict of peripheral as usual. Me I did not have any problem with WINDOWS 2000.
6. Start again the computer
7. Wen Windows is stabilized, go under Properties of posting (a click of the right mouse button on the Desk and to select menu Properties) and click on Parameters. Surprised! Two blue squares represent the monitors one and two. Play with, they move, increase, decrease.
8. If you see only one monitor it is that Windows did not understand anything and does not have to install the second monitor well. You are not lucky and I compatise with you. You need now zigonner!!!!!
9. But 99% of the times, you will see the second monitor. Click on a monitor and check Extend Windows Desk to this monitor. It is while clicking on Apply that you will be surprised! You will see your second monitor becoming active, you will be able to slip a window even there.
10 Observe that while clicking on the icon of a monitor (1 or 2), the dashboard becomes to him specific: colors, zone of screen, etc. Configure by trying it to avoid a too great disparity (for example one with 1024x768, the other with 640x480).
